Don
was born in Waltham, Mass. His family moved to Deerfield, NH when
he was 4. Don starting playing the drums when he was 15. When he
was 16 his oldest brother took him to see his first show, "The Outlaws",
and ever since then Don has been a huge Southern Rock fan.
His
other influences include Van Halen, AC/DC, Led Zepplin and Lynyrd
Skynyrd. Don has always looked up to the greats like John "Bonzo"
Bonham, Kenny Arnoff, and Dennis Chambers. He put his drums away
for a few years until he got the opportunity to play with Mrs Jone's
baby boy "Sweet Roy Jones and the Blues Connection" on the Blues
on Fire Show, where he first met Jim Brennan. After the Blues Connection,
Don stayed with the blues for another 7 years playing his drums
for a local blues band, Bad Habit.
In
the spring of 2007, Don answered an ad for a southern rock drummer.
On the other end of the phone was Jim Brennan. That next weekend
they met at Jim's house for a jam where Don met Marc "The Kid" Pilcher.
Shortly after Rick and Marc V. ("Not The Kid")join the
band, he knew they had the right combination to take Southern Breeze
out and have some fun. The fun is what its all about.
